  8. I just had a weirdly, but solidly, comforting thought about Sunny-girl and her babies, and many other animals whom we have loved so dearly and lost so devastatingly. A TV show about physics and relativity theory sort of got through to me: in some real sense, all moments of time simply exist--not past, not present, not future: they are all just *there*, always and forever, in some sense that (apparently) physicists understand. That means that those moments when Sunny-girl was alive, including when she sat for these photos, are *there,* always, too. An odd kind of immortality. I like it.
